Approve the product, not the photo
Many delays and claims come from approving a picture or a chat message. Physical sample (or a clearly documented video review with measurements) is the only safe basis for infant sleep products — especially for fit, hardware feel and fill evenness.
Sign-off checklist
- Measurement chart matches the graded size you approved — not only the sample size
- Fabric hand-feel and weight match the swatch or reference you signed off
- Colour matches the approved lab dip / Pantone under your light box, not only daylight
- Zipper, snaps, chin guard and shoulder openings work as specified and feel safe
- Print placement, embroidery and labels match artwork files
- Care label, fibre content and origin label match your market’s legal wording
- Fill distribution looks even (padded bags) — lumps create cold spots in use
- Packaging, hang tags and carton marks match the PO before you sign bulk
Sleeping-bag specific checks
- Neck opening and armholes match the safety design you specified — not only the look of the shell.
- Zipper path and under-zip guard do not scratch; two-way zippers work as briefed.
- TOG honesty. A sample that feels warm is not a tested TOG value. If your buyer needs a TOG claim, plan the right test or calculation evidence for that construction.
- Even fill. Spot-check multiple points; cold spots in a padded bag are a safety and comfort issue, not only cosmetics.
Write the approval like a document
Email works. State: sample ID or photos, date, colour references, measurement table, any comments that are not blocking, and the words “approved for bulk” or “approved with the following must-fix items”. Chat thumbs-up is not an approval trail.
What we need from you to start a sample
Fabric or hand-feel target, TOG or season, size chart, artwork files if any, and the market you sell into. Sample fee and timing are confirmed before we cut.
